Welcome to The Gateroom's fic archive!

Although primarily a resource for Stargate fiction, we now accept fiction from any other show or movie.

Get reading, and get writing!

Small Changes
Posted by Anise
16 September 2008 - 02:10AM

Just a couple of small changes, to see how things fare, and also because I have had less time online than I would have liked recently!

All authors have now been changed to auto-verification, meaning your stories will show up as soon as you post them, instead of waiting for someone to approve them. We'll be running an honour system, whereby if someone reads something they feel is inappropriate for the flags and ratings it has been given by the author, you can contact me and I will get it sorted.

Oh, and there are just 3 days left (including today) for the "Play Time" challenge!

Glitches
Posted by Anise
14 August 2008 - 06:34PM

The glitches we have had within the "other" category have now been ironed out. All the sub-categories are now visible, and we now have RPG-based in the "other" category as well.

Watch out for a new challenge coming in the next few days...

New Content Rating
Posted by Anise
08 August 2008 - 07:15PM

Due to demand, the new adult rating of NC-17 (UK 18) has been included on the site. If you submit stories to this standard, and do not flag appropriately, your login could be restricted or banned.

Welcome also to our newest authors, two of whom have been auto-validated today, due to the quality of the work submitted!

New Sub-Categories
Posted by Anise
04 August 2008 - 10:16AM

Due to popular demand, a new sub-category has been added to both the SG-1 and Atlantis categories - fiction based on the RPG boards on this site.

I know there's plenty of fic out there that ahs developed from the boards here, so please feel free to add!

If there is demand for it, I'll also add the sub-category to the "Other Shows/Movies" category as well.

Fic Archive Changes
Posted by Anise
01 August 2008 - 04:44AM

Been doing some work on the site this morning. All the glitches should have been ironed out, but message me if you come across anything.

The challenges are now working again, and all the spam has gone. You now need to log in to be able to issue a challenge.

There are now new sub-categories in the SG-1 and Atlantis sections, covering Alternate Universe. I am aware that some of the new submissions have been AU, so if you have any AU fic, please go in and edit the tags to add AU to the sub-category!

Several of our more regular authors have now been auto-validated, so your stories will now appear automatically without being moderated - thanks for your great work so far!

Over the next few weeks, we will be upgrading to the new version of eFic, but only once the new version of this template has been released, because I can't find any others I can modify, and would be easy on the eye!

There is a new fiction challenge coming later today - keep an eye out for it...

Multi-Show Fic Now Accepted!
Posted by Anise
01 August 2008 - 01:47AM

As promised, The Gateroom is now accepting fic from other shows and movies. Initially, the specific categories are as follows:

  • Buffy
  • Angel
  • Doctor Who
  • Torchwood
  • House
  • CSI

We also have an "other" category, and, if we get enough submissions for another specific show, we will add them to the sub-categories.

Characters from as many of these shows as we can manage will be added over the next few days, but if you can't wait, no matter - post away, and edit once we add the characters!

Welcome Back
Posted by Anise
31 July 2008 - 05:23AM

Okay, so the site has been on forced hiatus for a while... longer than a while, in fact - a bloody long time!

However, in discussion with some of the other admins of the site, we have decided to give the site a revamp and a rework, and the first thing to restart is the fic side.

Over the coming weeks, we will be opening up the fic to multi-genre, so watch this space.
